IFAS: trade fair for the healthcare market with lots of new features

The integrated job fair is showcasing an innovative tool for staff recruitment

IFAS 2018, the trade fair for the healthcare market, is presenting itself as extremely versatile. Exhibitors will showcase new products and trends in the Messe Zürich from 23 to 26 October 2018. There will be a brand new competition for start-ups honouring the best innovation, along with a special exhibition and expert presentations approaching topical issues in the industry. IFAS will once again be playing host to CareFair, the Swiss job fair for healthcare professions. It will introduce the CareBase online portal – a novelty in the industry. The portal aims to simplify the staff recruitment process.

Finding qualified staff can present a major challenge for service providers in the healthcare sector in Switzerland. That is why it is not uncommon for positions to remain unfilled. The CareFair job fair at IFAS presents an interesting opportunity for recruiters to raise their profile among jobseekers and get to know potential candidates for vacancies. Following the successful premiere in 2016, the partnership is continuing in 2018. At CareFair, employers and professionals, including both new entrants to the profession and established specialists, will have the opportunity to meet face to face and build valuable networks in an informal, no-obligation environment. 15 exhibitors have already registered for CareFair, including major employers in the industry such as hospitals in the cantons of Basel-Landschaft and St. Gallen and retirement centres in the city of Zurich.

New online talent pool
In 2018, the CareFair offer will be expanded to include the CareBase online platform. "We are launching the first online talent pool, which will present a variety of CVs to employers in the healthcare industry in a simple and clear manner," explains François Muller, founder and CEO of CareFair Switzerland. Exhibitors at CareFair can use CareBase to view files in advance and invite potential employees to an interview at the job fair. Job seekers can upload their documents to the platform for free.
CareBase will be launched as part of CareFair 2018. The platform will be available to exhibitors as of July 2018. After CareFair 2018, CareBase aims to also be available independent of the job fair.

Start-ups present their innovations
A further new feature of IFAS is the IFAS Innovation Challenge, launched by Swiss healthcare logistics firm Cosanum in partnership with IFAS and Swiss Healthcare Startups SHS. Up until 20 May 2018, start-ups have the opportunity to submit their visionary ideas, services and products for the healthcare sector. “Numerous start-ups take part in the competition” says Show Director Heinz Salzgeber. An expert jury nominates the ten best projects which then go on to present at IFAS – the winner will be presented with an award at IFAS on Thursday, 25 October 2018 and can cash in on numerous benefits.

Over 300 exhibitors registered
More than 300 companies, industry associations and publishers have already registered as exhibitors for IFAS 2018. “That is an excellent result at this stage” says a delighted Salzgeber. The exhibitors will present their innovative products and services, giving trade fair visitors a broad overview of the current trends and innovations in the healthcare sector.

“Hospitality in Healthcare” special exhibition
The “Hotel Solutions for the Health Sector” special exhibition is one of the proven highlights of IFAS. Gabriela de La Rocca will once again be presenting a fascinating mix of exhibitors who specialise in fitting hospitals, rehab clinics, care homes and nursing homes with the latest equipment. Multifunctional and smart furniture, textile floor coverings with various cleaning solutions and absorbers for pleasant acoustics in the room are just a few examples.

Presentations on industry-related topics
In addition to the trade fair, the IFAS FORUM will once again put on high-quality specialist presentations for free. These presentations cover current and industry-related topics, underpinned by specific examples and offering the perfect opportunity for networking. The detailed programme will be published at www.ifas-messe.ch in July 2018.

A diverse trade fair lies ahead – save the date: 23 to 26 October 2018, Messe Zürich.
